Just an observation re days of operation (1 replies)

I was sending an e-mail to a friend of mine who lives in Walnut Creek
about our wonderful wine-tasting trains.  While I was trying to
encourage him to bring friends and spend the entire day in Niles, I
couldn't help but notice that the trains run on Sundays, the Niles
Essanay silent films are on Saturday evenings, and the live music at La
Fajita is on Monday and Friday nights...  There are undoubtedly good
reasons why the schedules are what they are (probably because so many
of our efforts are staffed by our marvelous, hardworking volunteers).
Still, wouldn't it be nice if we had a little overlap to encourage folk
to spend the entire day here (hopefully doing a little shopping between
events)?  Anyway, this is not a critique, just an observation…

Others in our museum group may have already responded
(I am on Daily Digest format so I won't see any posts
until tomorrow) so forgive me if that is the case.

The Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum IS planning on
being open the Sundays the train is in town - that
just makes sense, as you pointed out. So that means we
will be open Sat & Sun from 12-4 pm. So..... we need
volunteers - we can have one experienced person with a
newbie - we like to have two people in the building so
if you are interested and willing, please let us know.
We do plan to have some special events on Sunday
afternoons but when we get the front entrance hallway
transformed into the store & partial display area then
visitors can see some things even if there is a
concert or some such in the main theater.....
